What We Know So Far About Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (Star Wars Land)
The wait is OVER! Sort of…we’re one step closer to Galaxy’s Edge becoming a reality! Today, Disney announced the opening dates for Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. The new land will be opening at Disneyland on May 31 and August 29 for Hollywood Studios! Mark your calendars now! Honestly, start requesting time off, packing bags, booking hotels, etc. because those dates will be here before you know it!
I’ve read through the Disney Parks Blog post many times because there’s a number of interesting details. Here’s what caught my eye:
- Only ONE of the attractions will be open for the initial opening. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run will be available, but Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will be opening later this year. Bummer…since I was looking forward to that ride more, but so is everyone else I’m sure!
- For guests visiting the new land at Disneyland from May 31-June 23 a no-cost reservation will need to be made at Disneyland.com
This will be available at a later date.May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. PT the reservation system will be available for guests! Specific details on how to make the reservations will be provided on May 2nd at 8:00 a.m. PT on the Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland.com. You MUST have a Disney Account to register!! However, guests staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels during those dates will be assigned a designated reservation time! (One reservation per registered guest). Reservation emails have begun going out! Reservations allow guests 4 hours in the new land, but once they leave there is no returning to the land! Also, you must leave the land at the end of our time.
- No entry to the new land during Extra Morning Hours or Magic Mornings and no FastPass+ or FastPass/MaxPass offerings for the initial launch of the land.
Those are the main things that stood out to me. We have our hotel booked for opening day so we’re eager to see how this assigned registration works! Everyone should be aware of the amount of crowds that are anticipated and know that NOTHING is truly guaranteed. Just keeping it real y’all.
